Help For Veteran is a registered charity committed to helping Veterans and their Families deal with adjusting to civilian life. Getting them the help they need especially with: Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), housing and coming out of prison. We will help anyone who feels they need our support.
Our mission is to promote the recovery and independent living of Veterans within the community through peer support. To offer them the opportunity to meet with other veterans in a creative and safe place where they can explore thoughts and feelings and help them develop the confidence to take more control of their lives.
Our Goals are to get more funding for a permanent base so that our staff can work with the veterans and monitor their progress. No Population has greater financial challenges then many of our veterans, who struggle with stable housing and steady employment. Our team aims to help them be self-sustaining by finding and applying for grants and funding to deliver our veteran’s long–term needs.
We are constantly seeking new sources of funding to support our services and to help them grow. We have ambitions and hope that sometime in the future we will be able to offer more comprehensive services. If you would like to help by: offering your services, running an event to raise money or making a donation please contact us.
Help For Veterans conforms fully with the Data Protection Act and all calls and emails will be treated with the utmost confidentiality.
Evidence has shown that the majority of service men and women do not seek help with regard to combat related stress issues until after a long period of time. Considering the United Kingdom’s recent Military commitments in different combat theatres the figure for those potentially suffering from their experiences whilst on active service is substantial.
